Baltimore Orioles stop in the Minnesota borderland for a few weeks of their yearly migration. Photographs shown here were taken in May, 2018. Though Koochiching County is the second largest county in Minnesota it is sparse human population with statistics showing 12, 865 residents, or 4 citizens per square mile. "Kooch" residents enjoy the freedom of space within a background of silence where natural sounds prevail. The source of outdoor music is found in the wildlife, breeze and winds.
